Penangites are well known for their warmth and hospitality. To people as well as animals.
Corgi & The Gang Pet Café is situated at 102-E-7, New World Park, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. It is in one of the double storey shoplots within New World Park itself.
As you walk in, you will notice that it has double doors, this is to prevent their cute fluffy resident dogs from escaping for a joy run. Before entering, you will be required to wear their in-house slippers that are cutely patterned with Corgi faces.
When you enter, you will be greeted with their resident corgis lying practically everywhere and anywhere on the floor. Other than the very cute adorable corgis, the café also has a golden retriever and quite a number of huskies. Dog owners can also bring their own dogs here to socialize. It is a win-win situation for the humans as well as the doggies.
The food here is splendid. The menu is not your usual run of the mill type of basic finger foods. It is rather classy cuisine, there’s even escargot if you are feeling adventurous.
The soup of the day during our visit was mushroom soup. Their mushroom soup is definitely a must try. The taste is not like the usual creamy mushroom soup. This one pacts a big mushroom punch as the soup is more mushroomed colored than cream colored. The taste was strongly mushroom, without a doubt. It comes with a small slice of garlic bread which is definitely not enough. You can order another 2 pieces of garlic bread for RM3.
For the main course, we ordered the Grilled Lamb. It was absolute creamy perfection, the mashed potatoes blended so well with the garlicky sauce and the crispy grilled lamb. They didn’t stint on the veggies, which is definitely a plus.
The recommended cookies and cream milkshake did not disappoint. It’s loaded with creamy goodness and generous chunks of cookies blended in. Very sorry for the photo of the almost finished drink. I was thirsty and forgot to take the photo before digging in. It is that good!
You can buy doggy treats for RM5 a pack for the nice good doggies. They work hard entertaining the guests.
The café also has the upstairs in a work in progress for Husky & The Gang.
We highly recommend this place. It is clean, fun and good food. What more can you ask for?! For us, we are definitely coming back again!
