King of Fighters XII was somewhat of a disappointment to most of us, well personally the game wasn’t bad, it was just lacking in play modes, especially story mode and characters, come one, even SFIV had more characters! Oh and if at least the online mode was playable then KOF XII might have had a fighting chance, but sadly online play was a horrendous slideshow.
Now King of Fighters XIII is upon us, and from the game play vids it looks pretty good. Insane combos and moves that are just way too flashy for a Street Fighter game makes their return. Let’s have a look at Team Yagami’s insane moves.
Finally the 10th new warrior for Super Street Fighter IV has been revealed, bringing to the Street Fiighter universe a very oddball fighter – Hakan. a grappler type with an affinity for oil… Seriously how do you grab something when you are all oily? Which brings us to Hakan’s wacky oil moves, where most if not all of them involve squeezing his opponent until they slip out of his grip and is sent flying to kingdom come. Trust me, you wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of this grapplers moves (for obvious reasons), watch the video below to see what I mean. Looking forward to this game, the first quarter of the year of the Tiger is really sucking gamers dry with all these great titles, I guess the ‘Tiger’ is really hungry for our money this time round.
Chaos is upon us as Kratos decends on us in full HD glory and gore in God of War III!! You will be killing a lot of gods in this game, it might actually make you feel invincible. The year of the Tiger sees Kratos bringing chaos and vengeance to the PS3, quite fitting I suppose. In this final chapter of the God of War series, Kratos leads the Titans on a war against the Gods of Olympus. Will the Titans finally triumph against their captors with the aid of the God of War? It’s up to the players to decide the fate of Olympus this time round. Till March, all we can do is enjoy the following trailer:
God of War III is a highly anticipated action game coming to the PS3 this March. Fans of the franchise have more to look forward to and do in this final chapter of the series. Kratos can now grapple and ram into hordes of enemies, illuminate dark areas of a room to reveal passages and doorways and even illuminate enemies in a dark tunnel to deal some smack down. Enjoy the featurette and be prepared as Kratos invades PS3s worldwide this coming March!
Fans of Batman and the more recent Batman Arkham Asylum game will be pleased to know that a sequel is in the making. From the ending sequence of Batman Arkham Asylum, we clearly see that there are loose ends to the story, which I assume this sequel will tie up. Not much is known other than a trailer, but you can register for more Batman Arkham Asylum 2 updates on the Arkham Has Moved site. Now sit back and enjoy the trailer:
Being a fighting game fan, one needs a weapon worthy of the fight. I’m lucky to have got my hands on one of these babies, may I present to you my Ultimate Weapon: Madcatz Fight Stick TE Collector’s Edition! It was quite hard to find one in our local stores, although it was pricey, bought it at RM680, I’d say I have no regrets.
The Ultimate Weapon
The stick is very sturdy and well built, precision is excellent and the Sanwa buttons are just a joy to push. Continue reading
The second circle of hell is lust, where people are punished for their obsession of sensual love, often tormented by being unable to reach their lovers even though they seem so near to each other. The sinners are stuck reaching out to their lovers, but never able to touch or reach them or even being punished in solitude, doomed to be alone for all eternity. There is also a huge tornado in this circle which violently blows the tormented souls aimlessly as just how the power of lust would do to us.
“Those overcome by lust are punished in this circle. They are the first ones to be truly punished in Hell. These souls are blown about to and fro by a violent storm, without hope of rest. This symbolizes the power of lust to blow one about needlessly and aimlessly. In this circle, Dante sees Semiramis, Dido, Cleopatra, Helen of Troy, Achilles and many others who were overcome by sensual love during their life. Dante is informed by Francesca da Rimini of how she and her husband’s brother Paolo committed adultery and died a violent death at the hands of her husband (Canto V).”
Watch the developer’s video for their disturbing rendition of this hellish circle:
I’m not sure whether PS3 owners should rejoice or sculk at the news as there are literally two sides to the matter, first are previous PS2 owners who would have already built up a considerable library of PS2 titles but may not be able to play them anymore for reasons such as their PS2 got busted and was hoping for backward compatibility on the PS3. Another side to things are for people who have never owned a PS2 and was hoping to get their chance at playing PS2 games on their PS3 through PSN downloads.
No matter what the case is, it would surely be good news for every PS3 owner to be able to play Dreamcast games Continue reading
Marvel fans can rejoice again as Activision will be bringing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. The story will be focusing on the Civil War events from the comic books and should please fans looking for some comic authenticity, while fans of the original MUA should be happy for a follow-up to the addictively fun action game.
The roster is quite an interesting one, offering characters such as Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Mr Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, Thing, Hulk, Dare Devil, Storm, Deadpool, Venom, Green Goblin, Ice Man, Luke Cage, Jean Grey, Juggernaut, Gambit, Iron Fist, Ms Marvel, Penance, Song Bird, and Thor. If your favorite character is not in the list, we can only hope that it will be offered as a DLC later on.
The in-game engine and pre-rendered cut scenes all look very detailed and solid, we can count on Activision to bring us more superhero goodness this time around. Take a look at the Gamespot video below to get a feel of the action. Can’t wait to play this game.
