Batman Arkham Asylum 2

Batman Arkham Asylum 2

Fans of Batman and the more recent Batman Arkham Asylum game will be pleased to know that a sequel is in the making. From the ending sequence of Batman Arkham Asylum, we clearly see that there are loose ends to the story, which I assume this sequel will tie up. Not much is known other than a trailer, but you can register for more Batman Arkham Asylum 2 updates on the Arkham Has Moved site. Now sit back and enjoy the trailer:

The Ultimate Weapon

Seraph

Being a fighting game fan, one needs a weapon worthy of the fight. I’m lucky to have got my hands on one of these babies, may I present to you my Ultimate Weapon: Madcatz Fight Stick TE Collector’s Edition! It was quite hard to find one in our local stores, although it was pricey, bought it at RM680, I’d say I have no regrets.

The stick is very sturdy and well built, precision is excellent and the Sanwa buttons are just a joy to push. Continue reading

Second Circle of Hell – Lust

Seraph

The second circle of hell is lust, where people are punished for their obsession of sensual love, often tormented by being unable to reach their lovers even though they seem so near to each other.  The sinners are stuck reaching out to their lovers, but never able to touch or reach them or even being punished in solitude, doomed to be alone for all eternity. There is also a huge tornado in this circle which violently blows the tormented souls aimlessly as just how the power of lust would do to us.

“Those overcome by lust are punished in this circle. They are the first ones to be truly punished in Hell. These souls are blown about to and fro by a violent storm, without hope of rest. This symbolizes the power of lust to blow one about needlessly and aimlessly. In this circle, Dante sees Semiramis, Dido, Cleopatra, Helen of Troy, Achilles and many others who were overcome by sensual love during their life. Dante is informed by Francesca da Rimini of how she and her husband’s brother Paolo committed adultery and died a violent death at the hands of her husband (Canto V).”

PS2 and Dreamcast games on PSN?

Seraph

I’m not sure whether PS3 owners should rejoice or sculk at the news as there are literally two sides to the matter, first are previous PS2 owners who would have already built up a considerable library of PS2 titles but may not be able to play them anymore for reasons such as their PS2 got busted and was hoping for backward compatibility on the PS3. Another side to things are for people who have never owned a PS2 and was hoping to get their chance at playing PS2 games on their PS3 through PSN downloads.

No matter what the case is, it would surely be good news for every PS3 owner to be able to play Dreamcast games Continue reading

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel fans can rejoice again as Activision will be bringing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. The story will be focusing on the Civil War events from the comic books and should please fans looking for some comic authenticity, while fans of the original MUA should be happy for a follow-up to the addictively fun action game.

The roster is quite an interesting one, offering characters such as Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Mr Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, Thing, Hulk, Dare Devil, Storm, Deadpool, Venom, Green Goblin, Ice Man, Luke Cage, Jean Grey, Juggernaut, Gambit, Iron Fist, Ms Marvel, Penance, Song Bird, and Thor. If your favorite character is not in the list, we can only hope that it will be offered as a DLC later on.

The in-game engine and pre-rendered cut scenes all look very detailed and solid, we can count on Activision to bring us more superhero goodness this time around. Take a look at the Gamespot video below to get a feel of the action. Can’t wait to play this game.

Fat is in?

Seraph

I can’t help but notice that as of late, it would seem that fat characters are rather popular in fighting games, don’t believe me? Take a look at Rufus from Street Fighter 4 and Bob from Tekken 6. Sure we’ve seen big characters before such as Zangief, E-Honda, and the likes but these guys are big because of their muscles and hey E-Honda’s a sumo wrestler. But with Rufus and Bob, they’re really, to put it politely, fat, yes just look at Rufus and you can see he’s like a big ball of jello, Bob’s still has a thick layer of fat around him but his animations aren’t as comical as Rufus.

Rufus from Street Fighter IV

Guess what, for all their fat, these two characters are surprisingly agile and flexible and not to be prejudice about fat people but we have a real life example of how agile they can be, anyone who watches Kung Fu movies would be familiar with Samo Hung, although not quite the same size as our video game characters but he sure isn’t err… thin, yet he’s a very agile fighter. Check out the videos below to see what I mean.

Rufus shakes his jelly belly as he confronts his rival to become the No. 1 fighter in the USA!

Bob putting the hurt down on some Tekken characters in this trailer.

This really disproves the stereotype that has long been established that fat people are slow, heck they could possibly be faster than you, so think twice before laughing at tubby next time ya. On a side note, maybe fat could become the next ‘in’ look, afterall it’s we humans who dictate these so called ‘trends’ (sorry but could not think of a more appropriate word to use here)

First Circle of Hell – Limbo

Seraph

Limbo is the first circle of hell, and also the first level of the game where we see the hero Dante defeating Death and jumping into hell after his love – Beatrice’s soul. Dante claims Death’s scythe and things start to get interesting as Dante starts his journey and battle against the legions of hell to rescue his love. Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia on the first circle – Limbo.

Here reside the unbaptized and the virtuous pagans, who, though not sinful, did not accept Christ. They are not punished in an active sense, but rather grieve only their separation from God, without hope of reconciliation. Limbo shares many characteristics with the Elysian Fields; thus the guiltless damned are punished by living in a deficient form of Heaven. Without baptism (“the portal of faith,” Canto IV.36) they lacked the hope for something greater than rational minds can conceive. Limbo includes green fields and a castle, the dwelling place of the wisest men of antiquity, including Virgil himself, as well as the Islamic philosophers Averroes and Avicenna. In the castle Dante meets the poets Homer, Horace, Ovid, and Lucan and the philosophers Socrates and Aristotle as well as the Roman general and politician Julius Caesar. Interestingly, he also sees Saladin in Limbo (Canto IV). Dante implies that all virtuous pagans find themselves here, although he later encounters two in heaven and one (Cato of Utica) in Purgatory.

Beyond the first circle, all of those condemned for active, deliberately willed sin are judged by Minos, who sentences each soul to one of the lower eight circles by wrapping his tail around himself a corresponding number of times. The lower circles are structured according to the classical (Aristotelian) conception of virtue and vice, so that they are grouped into the sins of incontinence, violence, and fraud (which for many commentators are represented by the leopard, lion, and she-wolf[5]). The sins of incontinence — weakness in controlling one’s desires and natural urges — are the mildest among them, and, correspondingly, appear first, while the sins of violence and fraud appear lower down.
