One of my favourite songs by our very own Guang Liang remade in english by this talented Vietnamese girl named Christine Nguyen. Keep up the good work Christine, really like the song! You may visit her myspace page for more of her wonderful songs.
For those who would like to sing along, the lyrics are below for your singing pleasure.
Forgot how long it’s been
since I last heard you
telling me ’bout your fav’rite story
thought for a long time,
began to worry.
Is it me who did something wrong?
You cried and said to me
that fairytales are all just lies.
I couldn’t be your fairytale prince.
but you don’t understand
since you gave me your hands
stars in my sky began to shine.
I’m willing to change into
The angel in those fairy tales
Just turn my arms into wings and hold you near.
You must believe, believe that we will be like a fairytale,
ending with happiness and love.
You cried and said to me
that fairytales are all just lies.
I couldn’t be your fairytale prince.
but you don’t understand
since you gave me your hands
stars in my sky began to shine.
I want to be your fantasy
The angel that you used to love.
Just turn my arms into wings and hold you near.
You must believe, believe that we will be like a fairytale,
ending with happiness and love.
I wish to be your fantasy.
The angel that you used to love.
Just turn my arms into wings and hold you near.
You must believe, believe that we will be like a fairytale,
ending with happiness and love.
Love, an emotion that often bogs the minds of even the greatest of minds, it is a blessing and a curse at the same time, depending on individuals. Why? because for those who have found their true love and are happily together, then it would be a blessing, but yet, there are it’s ups and downs as in any relationship. Conversely it would be a curse for those who have met with troubles, or the love they found is just single sided, this essentially makes one feel very sad and depressed.
Eventhough we know the consequences of love, we still go for it and often like to compare with others, but can love be compared? Some would say yes some would say no, but we still compare, perhaps the two songs below will shed some light on the issue.
BABY says that love can’t be compared.
王明麗 & 阿飛 says otherwise.
Well the main reason I post this two songs up is because I like the songs, at the same time they’re both meaningful and is worth discussing. So what do you all think? Sorry to my readers who aren’t mandarin literate but the songs are in mandarin only, I’ll see if there’s a translation on the lyrics or maybe try to translate it myself if anyone’s interested in knowing more about the meaning of the songs. If not, just enjoy the songs, they’re nice pieces.
The OST to the recent (or not so recent) John Woo hit – Red Cliff, brought to you by Alan, it’s a song with a traditional kind of rythm that befits the movie well. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
